What are some ways for to-be-married couples to save money?

We are both full-time students with very limited part-time income (~$500/month total). We pay for our own day-to-day expenses, while our parents are covering housing for us. We'd like to save $5000 for our future married life to start with, but lack tips and advice for how to do so. We are frugal, but some concrete tips from folks who have been there would be helpful. Thank you! What are some ways for to-be-married couples to save money?
Make an account(a budget) :of what you spend daily for the week/month and make sure you keep to the list.don't spend on unnecessary items;clothing, cosmetics, magazines.

but be flexible:sometimes an event may happen and you might have to spend more in that week.

buy in bulk:always saves a lot of money-but make sure you can use all of the products with the expired date.

use coupons/vouchers,etc.

prepare your own lunch:for college/work.

With such limited income you may have to wait until you are settled in a career to try saving a whole lot. You could save on food by careful planning of menus, buying in large containers when possible, dividing large pieces of meat in to several pieces for more than one meal, making casseroles and soups etc. For entertainment look for times when tickets to events may be cheaper such as afternoon matinees, or invite friends over for small gatherings, rather than going out. Cut utilities by turning the thermostat up or down a notch. Save gasoline, by planning errands in a circuit to prevent back tracking. Try resale shops for clothes or other items (or to sell your own things). There are many ways to save a little each month.
Make a list of all your monthly expenses, then add up all your income.Hopefully, you have a few dollars left over. Each take some spending cash each week,%26amp; save the rest.If there's nothing to save, the only options you have is to cut out everything unnecessary,%26amp; plan budget meals that are healthy.
If you live in the USA, they are getting ready to do the census and need census workers. Its easy and fun and you can do it together! and on your own time frame.

Make a list of expenses and use your debit card/credit card to track expenses for a month. Itemize all your expenses and see what can be cut back and where money is being wasted. Cut back in those areas. If you have trouble balancing your checkbook keep the discipline of using credit cards and paying off the cards at the end of the month. Leave only a small balance (for credit maintenance reasons). This way you can continue to track expenses easily and only have one check to write per month. Continue to track expenses and be sure to put the money you save into an interest bearing checking/savings account. I like ING.. they have more interest than most accounts.

When you do need to shop use coupons where you can. Buy the sunday paper and clip away. Use sites such as http://www.coupons.com for grocery coupons, http://www.printablecouponsfouru.com for retail coupons and money saving tips. If you need budget and credit help try http://www.creditimprovement101.com.

Don't forget about the romance and family though. Make sure you take time for your spouse and family. You can get the 2009 Entertainment Book (http://www.printablecouponsforu.com/eb) to take care of saving on local family dining, entertainment and attractions. For you and your spouse you can get all types of dining coupons for up to 60% off%26gt;%26gt; (http://snipurl.com/9mv6h). I have purchased fine dining coupons and cut over 50% off my bill. I bought a $25 gift certificate/coupon for $2 and the program is a national program. Just put your zip code in and the participating locations come up. (http://snipurl.com/9mv6h). Normally though a $25 coupon is $10. Sorry for all the info but I hope it was helpful
