We are flying from the uk, preferably Scotlandand plan to go at the beginning of December. Not too bothered about clubs but would like to be able to have a drink or two at night time. Also, does anyone know a good company to book through??? ThanksWhich resort in the Dominican Republic is best for couples without breaking the bank too much?
First Choice and Thomsons and there planes are really good for longhaul flights they have more legroom then Virgin. there is a GORGEOUS resort in BOCA CHiCA [a very popular beach] called LA HAMACA . this resort has everything - clubs , romantic restaurants , bars in pools , its a great atmosphere . the people are nice . %26amp; you can learn a lot about the dominican culture by playing games , plays %26amp; learning how to dance by the beach .

the package includes food for all three meals %26amp; the bars in the pool %26amp; by the beach have FREE drinks .

I forgot how much it cost us since it was 2 years ago . but it was a really cheap deal for 7 people . I TOTALLY recommend this place
book through sun wing and also punta cana any resort as long as its a 3 star. 4 and 5 only mean more to do most food is good in punta cana try looking for 24 hour one and Barcelo is best one i stayed at i stayed at most . stay away from one called LTI or something like that is ran by germans and horrible service, rooms were horrible food was bad, bored out of our heads.. looks nice on site but isnt.no one spoke englash most germans or spanish, even ones who worked there .. is only one i found bad, i been to most of them...we are in our 30s
We stayed in the Catalonia Gran Dominicus for 3 weeks in April/May of this year.

If you go to www.dominican-republic-holiday.com [my website] there is a review including video on the front page.

The accommodation is middle of the road but the beach is fantastic and some decent restaurants. We went with Expedia and paid 拢1400 for the 3 weeks. There is some info re excursions and trips.

I`ve stayed at maybe 10 All incs in the DR and this was good value for money.

NB:Not many Brits there which didn`t really worry us!
Early December is in your favour - no body want's to go away this close to Christmas and the prices are much better. We were at gran Flamenco some years ago - in April - wich is the high season and it was not overly expensive. Punta Cana . Six superp restaurants to choose from . Highly recommend it.
